My Father-in-law passed away on the morning of November 11, 2011. Within a couple hours after his death, Agent Funeral Home rang my brother-in-law and said they wanted to start making arrangements for the cremation. My brother-in-law had not yet been informed that his dad had died and was shocked and distressed to be told via a business organization. When my wife phoned Agent from England the next day, they explained that it had been an honest mistake because the hospice had told them that they had informed the family. Sadly, they had only left a message that had yet to be received. She understood that this was that this was a mistake that said she hoped it never happened to another family and was willing to let it go. At this point, she was given a quote of £2,600.00 - £2,800.00 for the cremation. As my father-in-Law died without any money after his health care costs, Agent said they could work with us and only charge £2,400.00. Our uncle stepped in to handle the arrangements and we were shocked to hear that he was charged £3,000.00. I would avoid this service at all cost. Our experience is that they were highly unprofessional, insensitive and dishonest. They did not even wait 2 hours after a man died to rush the family to make decisions. They had also already collected the body and had it in refrigeration before any one in the family gave the go ahead. Shame on them. Truly disgraceful behavior and they never even wrote a letter of apology.
