The shop was highly recommended by many people, so I decided to take my wedding dress there to be altered. I wanted to have my dress taken up at the waist line so that I didn't have to cut the beautiful design off the bottom of my dress plus I also needed to have a couple inches off each side of the bodice of my dress. The shop owner said she could do it with no problem. I get a phone call about 2 weeks after I dropped off my dress from the shop owner asking me to come in as soon as possible, there were problems with my dress. I go in that evening to her shop and she proceeds to tell me that she cannot take it up at the waist, it was too difficult and she would end up ruining my dress. I asked her what she thought would be best to do since she has been doing this for 30 years. She told me that she would take in from the bottom, reattach the decoration from the bottom and it would look so beautiful when she was done. So, I decided to go ahead and listen to her because I thought she knew what she was talking about. I then go back in for another fitting that was already schedule. This time, I took my sister, maid of honor, my sisters friend, and my daughter with me. When I tried it on, they noticed there were issues with the bottom of my dress where the store owner had pinned where she was planning to cut. So, they had her redo the pins and helped her even them out. At that time, we all told her that we wanted it just barely above the floor in front and to trail a little longer in the back. She said ok and asked me to come back in for the final fitting and pick-up of my dress. When I arrived to try on my dress for the last time, I was asked to sit and wait because she was still cutting the bottom of my dress, mind you this is about 2 months after I originally dropped my dress off with her. Then, she had me go in and put it on. Right off the back, I knew something wasn't right. I was almost tripping over the front, the bottom where she sewed the trim back on was jagged and torn with excess material still attached that should have been cut off, and where she took in the sides of the bodice bulged out. As soon as I saw this in the mirror, I couldn't believe it. But what could I do. The shop owner said that it was so beautiful and looked so much better since she didn't have to take in it at the waist. If it wasn't for the other customers she had in her shop starring at me, I would have busted out in tears crying. I went and changed out of my dressed, bagged it up and left her store. She wouldn't even give me my receipt back that showed that I paid her for the alterations. As soon as I got on the road to leave Mustang, I broke down in tears because I knew there was something wrong with my dress and my wedding is in 2 weeks. I went to my fiancés grandmas house and had her and his aunt look at the dress. My fiancés grandma used to make wedding dresses and she couldn't believe what this shop owner did to my dress. I would not recommend this shop to anyone unless its a small simple job.
