Kara Riddle

I moved to the Greens in June of 2011, a newly divorced 23-year-old graduate student, working two jobs. For the majority of my time there, it was safe, clean, and comfortable, not to mention affordable. I enjoyed the pool, which was always kept clean and the neighborhood was safe. No one ever damaged my property and noise was rarely an issue. I loved having my own washer and dryer and garbage disposal. The garbage was close enough to take my trash out on the regular, but was never a bother. A lot of things people complain about at the Greens are just part of apartment living, like the occasional pest problem. Yes, I had roaches one summer and mice another summer, but I lived there for six years, so the chances of that happening eventually were likely, when I was sharing walls with other people. What really mattered was that the management was both prompt and aggressive in treatment and the problems were cleared up fairly quickly. Usually the people who caused the problems were evicted, as well. I didn't have children while I lived here and quite frankly, I appreciated how strict Jerry was with the rowdy kids that ran around the property. I can't imagine that any apartments are the best place to raise kids, when they don't have a lot of space to run, but I did appreciate that they weren't allowed to run wild and cause problems for the residents, particularly since this complex was so small. Jerry was always awesome and respectful to me. She remembered my pets' names and where I worked. Any time something needed to be fixed, it was done promptly. She was the best manager while I was there and I hope she stays. When I left, I was charged $50 for carpet cleaning and $25 for the drip pans on the stove that had been destroyed over the six years of my tenancy, both of which were completely reasonable. Aside from this, I received my full deposit, after giving my 30 days notice. My biggest complaint while I lived here would probably be some of the residents' behavior, but they didn't usually last long.
